Chichin Itza

Yucatan, Mexico

Chitchen Izta is a part of the Seven Wonders of the world.

-The cite was founded by the Mayans which is known through their antiquates throughout their sculptures which historians and archeologists are able to place a time period on.

-It calls attention to their stone monuments and artistic works in which they utilized circular observatories which were different from past sculptures allowing historians to piece together that this was a Mayan civilization which they later found out to be a civilization and temple of tapping the underground wells and waterways of the land at this time of construction.

-Now, in modern day, the temple is used as a means of tourism due to the above mentioned point of the fact that the temple is still able to survive in spite of geological and human causes. The erosion and human contribution of the site, not to mention the religious and spiritual backing of the temple are what makes Chitchen Itza a Seven Wonders of the world and why the spot is a heavily tourist populated area.
