About

Chiaroscuro, which stems from the Italian words Chiaro- (“clear” or “bright”), and -oscuro (“obscure or dark”), is a painting technique commonly used to depict contrast and arrangement of light and shade in a work of art. This was made famous by the great painters Caravaggio, Da Vinci and Rembrandt, and is also used to great effect in both film and photography to create brooding landscapes or intimate personal portraits.

Over the last nine years, this unique event has provided an inclusive platform for a diverse community of art enthusiasts, like-minded people and organizations; where experienced faculty, professional artists, industry experts and exceptionally-talented students across the country can network, ideate, create and appreciate. It has given them a wonderful opportunity to be challenged in the field of art, and has enhanced their ability to collaborate, to showcase their learning and understanding of the concepts in Art and Design, and to enable them to craft beautiful pieces of art that celebrate their creativity. In the last eight seasons of our festival, we have received an overwhelming participation of art enthusiasts including artists, workshop leaders, support groups, and art houses.
