School-Based Enterprise & Marketing Program Lab
The Eagle's Nest is a DECA Gold Certified School-Based Enterprise and a on-site retail operation. A Marketing Management Lab, the school store is ran by the students enrolled in the Marketing Management Pathway.
The Eagle's Nest sells snacks, Hershey's brand ice cream, fresh-baked Otis Spunkmeyer Cookies, spirit wear and gear, school supplies and Coca-Cola beverage products such as Peace Tea, Dunkin' Donuts bottled cold-brew coffees and various soft drinks.
Located within the upper gymnasium lobby of Collins Hill High School. Collins Hill High School is located in a suburban neighborhood of Suwanee, Georgia but it is close to the borderline separating the cities of Lawrenceville and Suwanee. Lawrenceville reflects a more diverse working-class demographic than its counterpart, Suwanee which maintains a more affluent demographic. The Collins Hill population seems to have a perfect mix of both. The school store serves a community that respects its students and faculty in both serving and having pride for the school. Our target market mostly consists of CHHS students and teachers. The students frequently purchase the food items while the faculty and parents focus more on the school spirit wear due to having to attend more school events and meetings; as well as sporting their spirit-wear on casual Fridays (when school faculty can wear jeans with Collins Hill High School apparel).
Re-established in the 2016-17 school year, The Eagle’s Nest has slowly increased it revenues by 20-40% each year school year, achieving our highest grossing year this year since the reopening in 2016 with a 2021-22 school year ending revenue of $34,211. In December 2022, we have reported $18,985 in revenue and appear to be on track to make our goal of $40K by the end of the school year. Profits from the school store helps build the Marketing Management Pathway program, helps pay for DECA chapter activities and lessen the financial burden of additional DECA fees on students.
