Health Insurance 101
Health insurance can be confusing, messy, and frustrating. We hope these tools can be used to help you better understand what it means to have health insurance, and how to use it.
Step 1
Find your insurance card.
Carefully read your card to see if there is a website provided.
Step 2
If your cards lists a website, visit their page.
Step 3
Most health insurance websites provide the option to "Find a Doctor," or "Find a Clinic"
Select that option
Step 4
It may prompt you to select your healthcare plan.
That is information that you can find on your insurance card. It might be labeled as "care type."
Step 5
Once you've selected your specific plan, the website may prompt you to either sign in or create an account.
It's always a good idea to have an account with your insurance companies website.
So if you haven't already, create an account.
Step 6
Once you access your account, you should be able to enter your location and find providers and/or clinics near you that are covered under your insurance plan.
