About Chezzie
My nail journey began in childhood with my favorite polish, a dark purple in a teddy bear shaped jar. A coat applied to the toes had the staying power to last all summer! Then came my obsession with achieving the perfect almond shape, which I determined should be possible with polish alone. Constant upkeep and fixes finally made me realize my naturally thin nails could not grow out to the length I wanted.
This is when I discovered press ons, which is the first time I got to wear designs. Picking out a new set from Walmart was the highlight of my day. The problem was they still did not last as long as I hoped, and losing one felt like the end of the world.
So I entered the salon for acrylics, which became my go-to. Yet I was often unhappy with the quality of the work, and my nails were paying the price as inexperienced techs dried out, gouged, pried and overfiled. It came to a literal breaking point in 2017 when I went to the salon and had two nails break the very next day (important lesson to use the proper products).
This incident inspired me to learn to do nails myself. With practice I learned the techniques and products required to make my nails not only beautiful but also last. I developed a love of mile long stilettos, and wore many shapes, lengths and styles in-between. After years of being complimented for my nails, hearing other people's horror stories and misinformation, I began to contemplate sharing my talent as a nail artist. And here we are!
