CHEMICAL ENGINEERING research are concerned primarily with the design, operation and management of processing systems to alter and upgrade raw materials into products that are more useful and valuable to society. In the design and operation of such facilities two competing concerns are generally paramount: the need to minimize both costs and environmental impact. The Chemical Engineering Department of UTP is proud to have a team of energetic and hardworking researcher and also blessed to have among the finest and talented undergraduate/graduate students enrolled into the department.
The Department of Chemical Engineering at UTP currently consist of 4 research clusters :
- Separation and Purification Technology
- Process development
- Process System Engineering
- Environmental and Sustainable Engineering
UTP is proud of its close relationship with the industry partners. Industrial collaborations, combined with our strengths in long term strategic research, indicate that in addition to support excellence in science, our research produces exploitable knowledge. Our researchers at Chemical Engineering Department offers an expansive range of research opportunities through different Center of Excellence (COE) and Research Clusters.
- Centre of Innovative Nanostructure & Nanodevices (COINN)
- Centre for Biofuel & Biochemical Research (CBBR)
- Research Centre for CO2 Capture (RCCO2C)
- Centre of Research in Ionic Liquids (CORIL)
- Gas Separation Research (GSRC)
- Centre for Corrosion Research (CCR)
- Centre of Advanced Process Safety (CAPS)
