At Chestnut Lodge Nursing Home, you'll find a welcoming and well-equipped environment designed for comfort, convenience and peace of mind. Our home is fully wheelchair accessible, has step-free ground floor accommodation and features thoughful amenities such as TVs in each room, outdoor seating areas, ensuite toilets for each bedroom as well as three communcal bathrooms and a  conservatory. We are a pet-friendly home registered with the Cinnamon Trust.

We believe your room should feel like your own space - a comfortable, familiar haven that truly feels like home. That's why we actively encourage residents and their families to personalise their rooms in any way they choose.

Whether its bringing in your own furniture, cherished photographs, artwork, ornaments or other meaninful belongings, we're happy to help create a space that reflects each residents personality and memories. From cosy blankets to family pictures on the wall, these touches can make all the difference in feeling settled and secure.

Comfortable Communal and Outdoor Areas

Our outdoor spaces offer a peaceful and relaxing space where residents can relax and enjoy the fresh air. There are seating areas perfect for chatting with visitors or simply soaking up the sunshine.

A special touch that makes our outdoor areas even more meaningful, is that many of the flowers and plants you see have been lovingly planted by our residents!

Accessiblity, Mobility and Transport

Chestnut Lodge is fully accessible for all residents and visitors. We understand how important ease of movement is, especially for those with mobility needs. 

We have a lift available to access our dedicated residential bedrooms on the first floor, ensuring that residents and visitors can move around the home comfortable and safely. The layout of the home supports the use of walking aids and wheelchairs throughout.

Our location also makes visiting easy, with public transport links right outside and local shops just a short walk away. Bus stops are right outside the home, providing convenient access to nearby shops, services and attractions. For those travelling by car, we offer our own private car park free of charge - however, please note that spaces are limited due to its small size.

If additional travel assistance is needed, we're happy to help arrange local taxi services for appointments or family outings. Additionally, if required for appointments, we can arrange ambulance transport for our residents.

Pet and Family Friendly

Pets are welcome by arrangement - our residents often enjoy visits from their furry friends, which boosts mood and wellbeing. We encourage family involvement: visitors are always welcome (please just try to avoid mealtimes) and overnight stays can be arranged.
