Chen-Yu Chester HSIEH 謝承諭

Chen-Yu Chester Hsieh is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, National Tsing Hua University. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Linguistics from National Taiwan University and was a visiting scholar at The Pennsylvania State University. His research interests include Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis, Corpus Linguistics, Cognitive Linguistics, and Applied Linguistics. 

 

謝承諭現為國立清華大學外國語文學系助理教授，自國立臺灣大學語言學研究所取得語言學碩、博士學位，並曾受科技部補助，至美國賓州州立大學應用語言學系擔任訪問學者。研究興趣為語用學、認知語言學、應用語言學，擅長之研究方法為語料庫語言學與言談分析。


He used to serve as an assistant research fellow in the Research Center for Translation, Compilation and Language Education at National Academy for Educational Research and taught at a number of universities in Taiwan including National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Taipei University of Technology, National Taiwan University, and National Hsinchu University of Education, offering courses such as Academic Listening and Speaking, English for Science and Technology, English Writing, and Chinese-English Translation. He is also devoted to the popularization of linguistics and the professional development of EMI teachers and has been invited by several high schools and universities to deliver speeches on these topics.

 

曾任國家教育研究院語文教育及編譯研究中心助理研究員、國立臺灣科技大學語言中心專案助理教授兼任行政組組長，並曾於竹教大、臺大與北科大等大學，擔任兼任講師，教授中英翻譯、英文寫作、科技英文、英語學術聽講等課程。除了語言學研究與英語教學外，謝承諭博士亦致力於語言學知識的普及推廣與各級學校雙語師資之培訓，曾至不同學校進行語言學科普演講以及英語/雙語授課相關之講座。
