Kelly Copperthite Ranalli
Kelly became the head Athletic Trainer at Cheshire High in 2015 after being an assistant for one year. During that time she has spent significant time working with the lacrosse team on and off the field. She has been a certified Athletic Trainer for 20 years. Kelly earned her undergraduate degree from Westfield State College and her master’s degree in sports psychology from California University of Pennsylvania. Prior to beginning at Cheshire high school, Kelly worked in the collegiate setting for over ten years and clinically. She has also served as an adjunct professor for athletic training and a clinical instructor.
Kelly has experience dealing with athletes of all age groups and levels of activity. She has extensive knowledge of evaluation and sport specific rehabilitation and warm-ups. In addition to being published in a peer-reviewed journal, she has been part of other research projects including one regarding concussion rates in lacrosse players and has had research projects presented at the regional and national levels. Kelly is experienced in kinesio taping, ACL prevention programs, performance of the functional movement screen, and impact testing and is certified by the CIAC to provide concussion education.
