Development at Chenango Forks goes beyond practice and games. Players receive individualized coaching, video feedback, and structured resources designed to improve both their skills and understanding of the game.
Skills Practice
One dedicated practice each week focuses on individual development. Players work through high-tempo drills targeting skating, puck skills, shooting, scanning, puck protection, body positioning, decision-making, and other skills that translate directly to games.
Systems Practice
A second weekly practice focuses on how we play as a team. Players learn and rep our forecheck, defensive zone, breakouts, special teams, and game situations while developing the reads and decision-making behind each system.
Individual Coach Meetings
Regular one-on-one meetings give players direct feedback on their performance, successes, role, goals, and areas for development throughout the season.
Video & Immediate Feedback
Game and practice video is used to break down individual habits and team play. Our on-ice video system allows players to watch reps immediately during practice, make an adjustment, and apply that feedback on their next rep. Each player has a custom video folder throughout the season with focused footage of their game.Â
Team Playbook
Every player has access to our team playbook covering systems, terminology, responsibilities, faceoffs, special teams, and situational hockey.
Next-Level Environment
Practices incorporate drills and concepts used at the junior and college levels, pushing players to play faster, process the game quicker, and become more complete hockey players.
Preparation for the Next Level
Players looking to continue into junior or college hockey receive guidance throughout that process, while the program maintains relationships throughout the hockey community.
