Welcome to the Nano-Optics and Devices Lab at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (South Dakota Mines). Our research interests include developing innovative nanophotonic, optoelectronic, and quantum devices for nanoscale light manipulation, light emission, energy harvesting, imaging, sensing, and quantum technologies by harnessing the unique properties of emerging materials and novel device designs. We are able to investigate material and device properties at the nanoscale (beyond the diffraction limit) using advanced near-field nano-imaging and nano-spectroscopy techniques.
