TUES 2/13:  Nomenclature with polyatomic ions Lecture and #1 sheet ; Meaning of division (Mass per unit volume of a wood block) 

HW: Nomenclature practice with Polyatomic Ions #2 ; Memorize Polyatomic Ions: Polyatomic Ion List


WED 2/14:  Review HW ; Pre-write lab (Mass per unit volume of a wood block): MLA, Title, BI, Data Table, Collect measurements for Wood Block Lab - and complete Sample Calcs (notes)

HW: 1. Use Lab Rubric and make sure lab is correct and finished. ; 2. Memorize Polyatomic Ions ; 3. Read pgs 109-112 and work Exercise 4.7 pg 111 and 4.8 pg 112


THUR 2/15:  Review Polyatomics, Ratios and Wood Block Lab ; Radioactivity Notes - What makes an element radioactive? What is an isotope? Alpha, Beta and positron Particles in Decay equations / Radioactive Decay Equations 

HW: 1. Finish decay equations ; 2. Study polyatomic ions (spelling & formula)


FRI 2/16:  Quiz - Polyatomic Ions #1 ; Cylinder Lab [Purpose- Find the mass per unit volume of one cylinder.] - Complete Pre-write, use Lab Rubric as a guide/Get a stamp when prewrite is complete, Collect data then get initialed/ Finish Cylinder Lab Sample Calculations using Lab Rubric and Wood Block lab and turn in ; Begin Balancing Nuclear Equations WS

WED 2/28: HW Quiz [DA & Radioactive Decay] ; Collect Salt Solution Lab ; Wood Block with DA Lab ; If time, begin: Cylinder Ratio with DA Lab Pre-write: 

Purpose - Find the mass per unit volume of one cylinder. Then use your ratio as a conversion factor to solve for the volume in both cm3 , ft3 , and gallons of a giant cylinder with a mass of 4.56 lbs. [MLA heading, title, Introduction with purpose and Background Info with 3 bullets, also make a data table.

HW: 1. Finish Wood Block with DA Lab ; 2. Finish Cylinder DA lab prewrite


THUR 2/29: Finish/Review-Fix Wood Block with DA Lab and Submit; Collect data for Cylinder Ratio with DA Lab, complete Sample Calcs.

HW: 1. Finish Cylinder Ratio with DA Lab ; 2. Mole Reading: What is a mole?  What is Avogadro's Number?


FRI 3/1: Review and Collect Cylinder DA Lab ; Read The Beandle Activity & then measure 100 of each type of beans. ; How does the Beandle Activity connect to the Mole Reading? ; Molar Mass with Examples: Molar-Formula Mass WS
