Dr. Sanjaykumar hails from Shivamogga district, Karnataka. He received his early education in Soraba taluk and went to Sagara for his intermediate. He received his BSc degree in Chemistry-Physics-Mathematics from Karnatak Science College Dharwad and subsequently completed his masters in Organic Chemistry in Karnatak University Dharwad. He then moved to the prestigious Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, where he worked as research/project assistant under the supervision of Prof. Satish Patil and Prof. M. S. Hegde in Solid State and Structural Chemistry Unit. After having the experience of research in premier institute IISc, he them moved to abroad for his higher studies to enhance his career prospects. There he got exposure to different cultures, teaching methods, and perspectives. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2014 from University of Science and Technology, South Korea. He then joined as a Post-doctoral Research Scientist under the supervision of Prof. Kilwon Cho at the Pohang University of Science and Technology, South Korea for three years. After that he entered into Industrial Research and worked in various Industries for 5 more years. Finally, after spending '12' long and fruitful years in abroad, he came back to India in 2023 and joined as HOD and assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, Bangurnagar Arts, Science and Commerce College, Dandeli, Karnataka. His research mainly focuses on organic materials for electronic applications such as, organic photovoltaics, organic field effect transistors, perovskite solar cells and non-linear optics. He also has research experience of amino acid and peptide synthesis for cosmetics applications, heterogeneous catalysis and raw materials for renewable batteries etc.

Design, synthesis and characterization of conjugated organic materials such as polymers and small molecules for electronic applications like OPVs, OFETs, perovskite solar cells and non linear optics.
Design and synthesis of derivatives of amino acids and peptides (cell penetrating peptides) of various length chains for the cosmetic applications.
Design and synthesis of elastomeric polymers for the application of solvent bourn dispersion of carbon blacks and carbon nanotubes, raw materials are used in battery manufacturing.
Heterogeneous ionic palladium catalyzed carbon-carbon cross coupling reactions such as Heck, Sonogashira, Buchwald-Hartwig coupling reactions.
