Chem-E-Car at the University of Washington focuses on the complete design and construction of a competition vehicle. We integrate custom energy generation, locomotion, and chemical timing mechanisms to compete annually in AIChE’s Chem-E-Car Competition®
We Build A CAR
Our members work together across multiple technical teams to design, fabricate, and optimize every aspect of our competition vehicle. Through research, experimentation, and teamwork, we transform engineering concepts into a fully functional ChemE Car.
We develop and test chemical reactions that safely power and stop our competition vehicle. All work in the lab space.
We design and program our vehicle's electrical systems: including sensors, circuitry, timing mechanisms, and control.
Using CAD software and iterative prototyping, we design and manufacture the car considering all components.
