How did we start?
ChemE Car at UW was reinstated through the dedication of Chemical Engineering students Lauren Ellis, Drew Herron, Adam Nixon, Kieran Hieberg, David Kim, and Sara Alibrahim. What began as a team of six members has nearly tripled in size following a successful first year.During its first year back, the team designed, built, and competed with a Chem-E-Car at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Pacific Northwest Student Regional Conference in Pullman, Washington. The University's first Chem-E-Car competition appearance since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Whether you're experienced or completely new to hands-on projects, Chem-E-Car offers an opportunity to learn, collaborate, and grow. Our team welcomes students from all backgrounds who are eager to develop technical and professional skills while working on a real engineering project. Other than a competition, we build a community! Make friends from different majors and expertise.Â
