Chelsea Cohen

Greetings!

My name is Chelsea Cohen and I have been an Instructor of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at Laney College since 2013. I have served as Laney's Distance Education Coordinator since Fall 2017 and have been smitten with online teaching ever since :).

Four years ago, I began my online teaching journey through @ONE. I like to joke that I have a master's degree in @ONE because I think I've taken every class they have ever offered. Ha! Truly though, my mind has cracked open to the possibilities afforded by online education, to the increasingly significant principles of digital citizenship, the power of infusing social presence into the online environment and most importantly, why equity must be at the forefront of design and pedagogy.

My capstone will focus on the ways in which my online teaching has transformed, and I will give you some specific examples of how I'm applying what I've learned in my own courses.
