The Uniform is an important part of delivering the complete Scouting experience. Wearing uniforms has been a method of the Scouting movement from the beginning. Decades of experience show uniforms have many benefits, including these:
Equality – The uniform represents a democratic ideal of equality. Scouts from various cultures and different economic levels wear the same uniform and cooperate as equals.
Identification – the uniform identifies a Scout as a member of the Cub Scouts. Badges on the uniform tell other members that he belongs to their den, pack, and council. The uniform itself identifies a good citizen to the entire community.
Achievement – The uniform displays badges and other awards so the accomplishments of each Cub Scout can be ímmediately recognized.
Commitment – Wearing a uniform is a constant reminder to each Cub Scout of one’s commitment to the ideals and purposes of Cub Scouting: duty to God, loyalty to country, and helpfulness to others.
For these reasons, among others, all parents and Leaders should emphasize to their Scouts the importance of wearing the correct and complete uniform on all suitable occasions
Types:
Class A: Scouts and leaders should wear their Class A Uniforms at all pack events unless explicitly informed otherwise. The Class A uniform is the blue button-up shirts (tan for AOLs) with neckerchiefs, pants/shorts/skirt, and optional hats. For Lions only, this is the pack-45 t-shirt or Lions shirt. See the uniform section at Scoutshop.org or visit the scoutshops in Woburn or elsewhere.
Class B: on occasion, Scouts may wear class B uniforms (e.g. to dirty events like a service project (leaf raking, litter collection, etc). The Class B uniform is the official Pack 45 t-shirt. All Scouts get a free shirt when they join; additional options include Pack 45 hoodies.
Class C: Other Scout-themed apparel with official logos (camp shirts, etc) that are worn neatly and respectfully.
The pack has a "Buy Nothing" clothing pile. When kids outgrow a uniform, many are donated back to the pack. Here is what is currently in the inventory for members to get. Reach out to a leader about getting an item.
