Note: You can also create YouTube clips on your mobile device. Open the YouTube app on your phone, open a YouTube video or stream, and follow the same steps above. Now, you can clip directly from the app!

Currently, only select channels can use the YouTube clip feature. This will slowly roll out to more and more users as the feature becomes more robust. You can test creating clips on the YouTube video linked here.

Clips are 60 seconds long, and you can set your custom start and endpoint on any live stream or VOD, provided clipping is enabled for your account. It is the perfect way of showcasing special moments of what would otherwise be an hours-long video.

Clips are short highlights of longer videos on your channel. They are not individual YouTube videos. If you delete or hide a YouTube video or live stream where the clips feature had been used, any clips made from that original video will also be hidden or deleted.

If you are a content creator, you can remove the YouTube clipping feature on your Channel. Go to YouTube Studio > Settings > Channel > Advanced Settings to do so. Scroll down until you find the Clips Section. Uncheck the box to disable the clipping feature.

The Live module provides the ability to create video clips from completed events. Clips can also be created while a live event is in progress. There are several reasons you might want to create a clip:

Note that all times in the clipping interface are based around the UTC time that the video data was received by Brightcove. This is a necessary adjustment to account for streams that have exceeded the VOD window (run more than 24 hours). When a video has exceeded that window, the time we get back from the player can no longer reliably be used to generate clips.

When creating clips, the highest quality rendition from the selected Live Ingest Profile is used as the source for the clip. The default uploading ingest profile for the account is used when creating renditions for the clip.

A list of all clips will appear below the clip editor. Clicking the Clip Name will open the clip in the Media module in another browser tab. Click Publish to Social to open the clip in the social module to publish it to a social media account. For information on publishing videos using the Social module, see Publishing Videos to Social Media Platforms.

Upon the conclusion of a live event and the commencement of the ingestion process for VOD creation, an intermediate Transmux asset is generated. Brightcove empowers seamless monetization of this content right after live streaming concludes, or a clip is crafted, eliminating the necessity to await full transcoding completion.

The preview player is used to preview the clip. When the event is in progress and the clip editor is opened, the clip will begin to play from the "safe live point" which is approximately 3 segments before the end. Note that not all browsers support autoplay.

The cue in and cue out points are the start and end of a clip. Each of these points is represented on the focus timeline with a draggable handle, and the time between the points is filled-in green. The points are also represented in the context timeline as the left and right edges of the green rectangle indicating the clip space.

The green shaded area represents the selected clipping time, where the edges are also draggable. Please note that the UI pre-selects the clip duration according to the total available clipping time. For example, in events greater than 10 minutes, the last 10 minutes will be pre-selected, similarly, for 30 and 60 minutes.

The context timeline is the bottom timeline in the clip editor. The context timeline shows the entire duration of the video, regardless of zoom level, the selected area of the clip, the location of the playhead, and the current focus viewport. The timeline is indicated with a red line.

A list of clips will appear below the clip editor. Click Publish to Social to publish the clip to one of your social destinations using Brightcove Social. For information on publishing videos using the Social module, see Publishing Videos to Social Media Platforms.

The crme de la crme of equestrian events is officially upon us, running from the 23rd of June to the 2nd, get ready for the one and only... CHIO and CVIO AACHEN!

The phenomenal scenes of Aachen have captivated us year after year and established the event as one of the biggest and best on the calendar, with many considering it to be the holy grail of events. CHIO and CVIO Aachen has been distinguished by the top-class sport that has been presented over the years. The World Equestrian Festival is synonymous with heart-stopping action, unique flair and sensationally gripping performances that has the audience moved beyond belief. This year, athletes from the disciplines of dressage, vaulting, jumping, eventing and driving will be descending on this German equestrian paradise, with the best of the best pitted against one another, in an epic battle to prove themselves to the world.

Even if you haven't watched a single other event this year, you're going to have to TUNE in for this one, it's THAT special! Head on over to our livestream to catch it all!

Take your livestream to the next level with graphics, screen-sharing and more. You can also incorporate streaming software like Streamlabs OBS. (For more information about connecting streaming software, click here.)

Captions are the easiest way to increase your video reach. With them, you can reach your Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences and people whose language differs from yours. Plus, many hearing folks who speak your language will still watch your video with the sound off.

Take a cue from the National Guide Dogs Australia (cue hearts melting), who hosted a live puppy stream on National Puppy Day. Think Golden Retriever puppies, a massive ball pit, and nonstop audience engagement.

In theory I can utilize -to instead of -t to specify an ending time of 5:30, however in practice this hasn't worked. Also in theory I can force -accurate_seeking to discard the contents from 4:51 to 5:00 and start the clip where I wanted it, but I learned this only works for transcodes and not transmux

When the M3U8 URL provided is a live stream (no #EXT-X-ENDLIST tag) then FFmpeg does not behave correctly. On FFmpeg versions 4.2.1 and earlier, it starts by downloading the TS file containing my clip segment, then proceeds to download every TS file in the M3U8 then hangs while waiting for new TS files to become available, downloading them as they appear - even hours after the end of the section I wanted to clip. On FFmpeg version 4.2.2 and later, I can create clips so long as they end before the second-to-last TS file. If the live stream currently has 20 minutes of video data and I create a clip from 19:30 - 19:40 (ending right at the start of the second-to-last TS file, assuming a 10-second TS file duration) then it will behave the same as 4.2.1: waiting infinitely to download the entire video.

The "2 TS files from the end" rule I believe is related to FFmpeg's initial probe of the video to get stream data. In the aforementioned 20-minute long video, if I make a clip from 3:00 to 3:30 (well before the end of the stream) it will first download TS files 119 and 120 (19:40-19:50 and 19:50-20:00), then it displays a list of the streams in the video (audio, video, metadata), then it downloads TS files 19 - 21 (containing the actual data I want for my clip)

While social content formats come and go, livestreaming is tried and true. Virtual events, workshops and webinars on platforms like YouTube Live were crucial during pandemic lockdowns, but do they still resonate now? You bet.

The popularity of livestreams stabilized as the world has opened up, and 37% of consumers think livestreams are the most engaging type of content. With streaming on the rise brands will need to fine-tune their current strategy and prepare for the future of YouTube and livestreaming.

You can direct viewers from your livestream, to livestreams on other channels outside of your own. This opens up new ways to collaborate with other YouTube creators and drive viewers to your other channels.

You need at least 1,000 subscribers to take advantage of this feature, and permission from the channel you want to redirect to via YouTube Studio.

A useful feature of YouTube Live is the ability to track the real-time performance of your livestream on all three devices; mobile, tablet and desktop. This enables you to quickly detect and fix any issues, and analyze your engagement.

XT2 camera Live View clips take more storage space than motion clips, so be aware of your 7200 second storage limit. When the limit is reached, your oldest clip will be automatically deleted to make room for the newest one.

When you block someone on X they can't watch or comment in your live video. If you want to stop someone from commenting in your live video, you can block them by tapping on their comment, selecting their profile, tapping the gear icon, and then choosing Block User. The account will no longer see or participate in your live videos and they'll be blocked on X.

As a viewer, you can report comments that you find abusive or offensive by selecting the comment and choosing Report Comment. When you report a comment you'll no longer see messages from that commenter for the remainder of the live video. This will not, however, block the account on X.

When you make your posts protected, after being public, your live videos will only be discoverable to your followers on X. You can delete previous live videos from X deleting the post with your live video.

Drag the red trim tools left or right to select and adjust your desired position of highlight clips. You can also see your selected clip duration. Click the magnifying glass icon on the right to zoom the video to help you select the highlight video range more accurately and quickly. Please note that the highlight clip should be no longer than 5 minutes. ff782bc1db
