My name is Ms. Suzanne van der Merwe.

I attended the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in education.

In September of 2019, I obtained my Master of Education degree in Career and Technical Education from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon.

I have taught Family and Consumer Sciences in Cape Town, South Africa for 18 years. In July 2016, I was offered and accepted a position at OEHS, where I run the Restaurant Management program and teach Culinary Arts Levels 1 and 2.

I have always wanted to become a teacher. Teaching is my passion and I love my job. I love helping and working with young adults while challenging them to develop skills they can use for the rest of their lives.
