A Healthy Relationships Toolkit for Teens
Respect is the foundation of every healthy relationship.
Healthy relationships are rooted in respect, trust, and clear boundaries. The Check for Respect toolkit helps teens and young adults recognize what healthy love looks like, identify warning signs of abuse, and know where to turn for help.
Teen dating violence is a serious issue that affects young people across Los Angeles County and beyond. We know beliefs about love, gender roles, and respect are shaped early in life. By reaching youth now, we can encourage healthy relationships, before unhealthy patterns take root.
The Check for Respect: Teen Dating Violence Prevention toolkit is part of the LA County Department of Public Health Office of Violence Prevention's ongoing effort to address gender based violence in our communities.
The 18x24-inch Check for Respect poster includes red and green flags to look out for in relationships. It can be used in classrooms, community centers and other spaces for youth.
Spread the word about healthy relationships with ready-to-use graphics and captions for Instagram, X and Facebook.
The handout includes information on consent, boundaries, and unhealthy behaviors to look out for in a relationship.
Fun, vibrant, and designed to stand out, these stickers spread the message of respect. They can be used on water bottles, laptops, or notebooks.
