Student Artist Collective

Chatham University's Student Artist Collective (SAC) is a student run organization working to provide resource and community for artists. We host weekly meetings for collaborative open studios and planning on Fridays 4:30pm in ADC room 206.

Our Mission Statement ; Who are we and what are we for?

We are for all artists and all art. Whether your work is for political protest or personal craft. Whether you are performing on stage or writing on a sketchpad. We will not exclude based on skill, medium, content, or message.

We are for creating a community of artists. Find what opportunities are out there- for networking and connections, but also peer support and comradery. If you want to show in galleries, or get feedback on a drawing.

We are expanding the borders of who student artists are. “Student” does not have to mean “enrolled at Chatham”, it can mean “willing to teach and be taught”. “Artist” does not have to mean “career” or “painter”, it can mean “hobby” or “to have interest in creating”.

We are a Collective, not a Club. There should not be official positions or membership requirements- you determine your own level of engagement. No members should have more sway than others- anyone can bring ideas to the table and expect to be heard equally.
