GitHub Copilot Chat is a chat interface that lets you ask and receive answers to coding-related questions directly within a supported IDE. Copilot Chat can help you with a variety of coding-related tasks, like offering you code suggestions, providing natural language descriptions of a piece of code's functionality and purpose, generating unit tests for your code, and proposing fixes for bugs in your code. For more information, see "About GitHub Copilot Chat in your IDE."

GitHub Copilot Chat is available to all organizations that have an active GitHub Copilot Business subscription. You can enable or disable GitHub Copilot Chat for your organization in the settings page for Copilot.

With Visual Studio version 17.10 Preview 3 or later, you can install a single extension that combines GitHub Copilot and GitHub Copilot Chat. If you use Visual Studio 17.8 or 17.9, you must install the GitHub Copilot and GitHub Copilot Chat extensions separately. The GitHub Copilot extension is a prerequisite for using GitHub Copilot Chat. For more information about the Visual Studio 17.10 Preview 3 release, see the Visual Studio Release Notes in the Microsoft documentation.

When Visual Studio Installer launches, select the workloads you require, and then under "Installation details", expand the Individual components details and select GitHub Copilot.

For an alternative installation method, you can also use the Microsoft instructions to install the GitHub Copilot extension. For more information, see Installation instructions in the Microsoft documentation.

GitHub Copilot Chat is intended to answer exclusively coding related questions that you ask in natural language. For example, you can ask GitHub Copilot Chat to help you write a function that returns the sum of two numbers.

At the bottom of the Copilot Chat window, in the Ask Copilot: Type / for commands and # to reference text box, type a coding related question, then press Enter. For example, type "How do I write a function that returns the sum of two numbers?".

Note: To find out about other special commands you can use with Copilot Chat, enter /help in the chat input box. For more information on slash commands, see Get better answers by setting the context for GitHub Copilot Chat in Visual Studio in the Visual Studio documentation.

To share feedback about Copilot Chat, you can use the Send feedback button in Visual Studio. For more information on providing feedback for Visual Studio, see the Visual Studio Feedback documentation.

GitHub Copilot Chat is available to all organizations and enterprises that have an active GitHub Copilot Business license. You can enable or disable GitHub Copilot Chat for your organization or enterprise in the GitHub Copilot settings page.

To use Copilot Chat in a JetBrains IDE, you must install or update the GitHub Copilot plugin. If you have not yet installed the GitHub Copilot plugin, follow the steps in "Installing the GitHub Copilot plugin in your JetBrains IDE." If you have already installed the GitHub Copilot plugin, follow the steps in "Updating the GitHub Copilot plugin in JetBrains."

At the bottom of the Copilot Chat window, in the Ask Copilot a question or type / for commands text box, type a coding related question, then press Enter. For example, type "How do I write a function that returns the sum of two numbers?".

We recently refactored registering workspaces. My suggestion would be login to: delete the single workspace. Hit sync on all 4 workspaces. Should realize not registered. Then follow: Registration - Rocket.Chat Docs

Same issue here! Removed the selfhosted server from the cloud connection and also from my rocket.chat installation but when I try to redo the reconnection process it seems to beleive its still connected, so no key or way to reconnect.

GitHub Copilot Completions and GitHub Copilot Chat in Visual Studio enable enhanced AI-assisted development in Visual Studio, helping you be more productive and efficient when writing code.

In this article, you'll learn about using Copilot Chat in Visual Studio, a fully integrated AI-powered chat experience from GitHub Copilot right within the Visual Studio IDE. It enables you to get coding information and support, such as syntax, programming concepts, context-specific code help, test cases, debugging, and more, without leaving the IDE.

Copilot Chat provides AI assistance to help you make informed decisions and write better code. With tight integration in Visual Studio, Copilot Chat understands what you're working on and can help you with development tasks like:

If you're using Visual Studio version 17.10 Preview 3 or later, GitHub Copilot Chat is included in the new unified GitHub Copilot extension available as a recommended component in the Visual Studio Installer. It is installed by default with all workloads, unless you choose to exclude it during installation.

There are two places you can ask Copilot these questions; in a chat window, or directly inline in the code that you're looking to modify, using inline chat. For questions where your goal is to modify or add to the code file you have open in the editor, the inline chat view will usually work best, whereas more general coding questions are best answered in the chat pane.

The chat window of Copilot Chat in Visual Studio enables you to ask your questions and see answers in the chat pane. It is usually the best way to work with Copilot on programming help and general coding questions.

If Copilot Chat offers a code suggestion you want to use, select Copy code block to copy the code suggestion, Insert in new files to insert the code suggestion in a new file, or select Preview to insert the code suggestion in your current code file. Using the Preview button lets you preview the code in the target location so you can easily see what's being updated.

If you select Preview, you'll see the code suggestions in normal Visual Studio diff view pattern. You can review and refine what is being proposed and apply to your code by selecting Accept or discard by selecting Cancel.

The inline chat view of Copilot Chat in Visual Studio enables you to ask your questions and see answers inline with the code in the editor window itself. With inline chat, you don't have to go back and forth to the chat window. It is usually the best way to work with Copilot on questions that add to or update a currently open code file.

Chatbots are used by millions of people around the world every day, powered by NVIDIA GPU-based cloud servers. Now, these groundbreaking tools are coming to Windows PCs powered by NVIDIA RTX for local, fast, custom generative AI.

Chat with RTX, now free to download, is a tech demo that lets users personalize a chatbot with their own content, accelerated by a local NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series GPU or higher with at least 8GB of video random access memory, or VRAM.

Chat with RTX uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), NVIDIA TensorRT-LLM software and NVIDIA RTX acceleration to bring generative AI capabilities to local, GeForce-powered Windows PCs. Users can quickly, easily connect local files on a PC as a dataset to an open-source large language model like Mistral or Llama 2, enabling queries for quick, contextually relevant answers.

The tool supports various file formats, including .txt, .pdf, .doc/.docx and .xml. Point the application at the folder containing these files, and the tool will load them into its library in just seconds.

Users can also include information from YouTube videos and playlists. Adding a video URL to Chat with RTX allows users to integrate this knowledge into their chatbot for contextual queries. For example, ask for travel recommendations based on content from favorite influencer videos, or get quick tutorials and how-tos based on top educational resources.

Chat with RTX shows the potential of accelerating LLMs with RTX GPUs. The app is built from the TensorRT-LLM RAG developer reference project, available on GitHub. Developers can use the reference project to develop and deploy their own RAG-based applications for RTX, accelerated by TensorRT-LLM. Learn more about building LLM-based applications. 152ee80cbc
