Chase created Wiz Talk with Chase in June of 2021, just one season after Washington's most recent postseason appearance with Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal. Chase, a passionate, devoted Wizards fan, began covering the team on voice memos on his iPad, and he quickly fell in love with the concept of following and podcasting about his favorite NBA team. Since that time, Chase has published almost 300 episodes of content about the Wizards, which has included previewing every single one of its games, minus one, in the 2021-2022 season.
Usually, his content consists of game previews and recaps, predictions and opinionated work, as well as conducting interviews with those involved in the Wizards organization to some capacity. He's interviewed the likes of former Wizards NBC Sports Washington voice Justin Kutcher, Wizards Radio Network voice Dave Johnson, Washington Post Wizards beat reporter Varun Shankar, and many others.
His thoughts on the pod, at times unconventional, mixed with fan engagement makes the podcast entertaining yet subject to different opinions and stories than others who cover the team. Today, the podcast continues to grow as a fan-favorite of Chase's content.
Interviewed Guests Have Included:
Justin Kutcher -- Formerly NBC Sports Washington
Dave Johnson -- Voice of the Washington Wizards
Chase Hughes -- Monumental Sports Network
Varun Shankar -- The Washington Post
On December 28th, Chase Coburn was credentialed for the Washington Wizards contest with the New York Knicks, a game that went to overtime and is still looked at as a major bright spark as to what the future holds with Washington's young corp. Chase began on the court pregame, before going up high as a guest on the Washington Wizards in-arena pregame show and Wizards Radio Network postgame show. It marked Coburn's first NBA game as a credentialed member of the media, but certainly not his last.
