Chase Coburn has immersed himself into the sports reporting industry at a young age. A 14 year old residing in Fairfield, Connecticut, Chase fell in love with sports at a very young age, and found his true passion not too-long after; sports reporting. He has chased that dream ever since. Once just a ten year old on voice memos, Chase now has a large following on his podcasts--Wiz Talk with Chase and Cool Sports Network, which he also premiers on his YouTube channel, Chase's Sports News--where he marvels on about different players and teams while sharing his hard-truth opinions on topics in the world of sports. Some of his most popular guests include ESPN Host and Anchor Mike Greenberg, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, CBS Sports' Play-By-Play Announcer Ian Eagle, Baltimore Ravens All-Pro defensive lineman Nnamdi Madubuike, ESPN NFL Insider Dan Graziano, ESPN Front Office Insider & The 33rd Team founder Mike Tannenbaum, along with many others.
Chase has also started pursuing great endeavors in his school after-hours. He started and co-founded his middle school’s–Fairfield Woods–first ever broadcast club. Along with a weekly news show and coverage of school activities, their biggest success has come in the gym, reshaping basketball coverage in the area.
Chase's talents also aren't just used at his school. They're being used across professional and collegiate sports. Along with his personal successes, he has also started receiving media credentials. He was credentialed for UConn football's Week 4 win over Florida Atlantic, for the Washington Wizards December 28th overtime loss to the New York Knicks--while being a special guest on the Washington Wizards in-arena pregame show and Wizards Radio Network postgame show--and received a season-long media pass for 2024-25 Fairfield University men's and women's basketball. This led to his credential for the MAAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships in Atlantic City in 2025.
Along with his duties on the mic, Chase has also grown an audience for his sports writing and journalism. He still publishes multiple articles per week on his Substack newsletter, which include articles for Fairfield U as well as stories on other teams and sports. He also is a freelance writer for The League Winners, covering UConn football and the Baltimore Ravens on the sponsored football site, and Coburn has become a key journalist for the company in just nine months.
Still, Chase doesn't slow down. Even while advancing in all courses in grade school, he was featured on a recent Connecticut Post edition about a new initiative he is taking on reporting on the town of Fairfield. Chase still continues to shock others with his professionalism, and passionate voice on the mic. As he looks for more opportunities to share that voice, his message as a whole is to help others chase their dream like he has at a young age.
