I am currently attending Salt Lake Community College working on an ASL/English interpreting degree. I love ASL and working with Deaf people and would love to work in your organization to further develop my skills and aid me in my journey to become a certified ASL/English Interpreter. I was first introduced to the Deaf community while volunteering in California where I became good friends with a Deaf woman. I enjoyed getting to know people in her community and wanted to understand them better.  I have gained a deep respect for Deaf culture and would love to work in an environment to bridge the gap between their world and the hearing community.

Interpreting Internship experience

• K-12 Interpreting under mentorship at Weber High School (11th grade) including CE classes.

• Free Lance interpreting under mentorship including medical, therapy, court, a school program, and various religious assignments in numerous religions.

Peer Mentor at Salt Lake Community College

• Friendly welcoming attitude to new students attending SLCC. 

• Answered questions and supported career goals of new students attending SLCC.
