Standard 5 - Instructional Delivery – The competent teacher differentiates instruction by using a variety of strategies that support critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and continuous growth and learning. This teacher understands that the classroom is a dynamic environment requiring ongoing modification of instruction to enhance learning for each student.
Flip Presentation is a video I created to present information to students outside, or inside the classroom using digital technology. This video is in accordance with Illinois Learning Standard 5.a. 5.With guidance and support from adults, demonstrate understanding of word relationships and nuances in word meanings. a. Sort words into categories (e.g., colors, clothing) to gain a sense of the concepts the categories represent. The technology used to create this artifact was Microsoft Powerpoint and Screen-Cast-O-Matic.
Flip Quiz is a quiz I made through Google Forms about Word Relationships to complement the lesson presented through my flip presentation.
While creating this artifact/lesson I learned that there are many "other" forms of instructional delivery that educators can utilize to reach their students--in conjunction with the traditional "face-to-face" method. The significance of using digital programs such as the ones used to create my flip presentation, will allow myself as a future educator to reach students "where they are." The current and future generations of students will continue to learn through advancements in technology, and as an educator, I will have the ability to reach all of my students.
