Wooden Engineering Design Proposal
Introduction Sheet
Used the different bandsaw blades to perform cuts. On straight edges I used the 3/8 inch blade and a fence to help while using a 1/8 inch blade for the rest of the cuts including lots of turns and curves.
Sanding down the edges and groves to remove excess material and display details of the box like the little knob (shown) to open the drawer. I hand sanded with extra pieces of sandpaper as well as using a belt sander for the larger shell part of the drawer.
Multiple phases of gluing including gluing the original 7 planks of wood.
Then the shell and bottom of the drawer back together after cutting out the shell with a band saw.
And finally gluing the lid to the base of the drawer as well as the indented handle knob on the front.
Draw is able to successfully open and close in a smooth process with minimal limitations or discrepencies.
