Dr. Charles Sharma Naidu has been involved in the field of education for 20 years, with backgrounds  in Architectural illustration and trained as a Graphic Designer; obtaining his BA (Hons) Graphic Design from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London, Masters in Educational Technology from University of Technology Malaysia and PhD in Education (focused on Gamified Educational Simulations) from Taylor's University.

His areas of expertise are Instructional Design, Educational Pedagogy Educational Simulations, Gamification and Educational Technology Adoption.

He is a strong believer in learning by doing and 'play to learn'. He is very interested to further his practice and research in gamified teaching and learning methodologies, immersive teaching and learning, gamified simulations, gamified assessments, VR Simulation adoption and the use of AI for pedagogy and student engagement. He has play a lead role in the setup and the establishment of VORTEX XR Lab back in Taylor's University for the purpose of adopting XR technology for teaching and learning purposes. 

Charles is currently a Senior Lecturer with the Faculty of Social Arts and Sciences, School of Architecture and Design (Department of Creative Design), Sunway University.
