Dr. Charissa Che is an Assistant Professor of English at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. She was previously an Assistant Professor of English at Queensborough Community College (QCC), CUNY. She earned her PhD in Writing & Rhetoric at the University of Utah, her Master of Arts degree in English at the College of Staten Island, CUNY, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a concentration in Writing and Literature, at Pace University. 

Dr. Che's research and teaching interests lie in translingualism, cultural rhetorics, composition pedagogy, and Writing Across the Curriculum. She specializes in the acculturative experiences of multilingual students in U.S. higher education: specifically, how race, language, class, and religion intersect to shape one's sense of identity and culture. 

Her work has been published in Writing on the Edge, Teaching English in the Two-Year College, and the Journal of Basic Writing. She currently serves as the Associate Chair of the Two-Year College Association. She is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Basic Writing and the Book Review Editor of Teaching English in the Two-Year College, and is on the Editorial Board of the Studies in Writing and Rhetoric book series.
