This chart shows how CHS After Prom & PTO is organized and the positions that need to be filled for each school year.
A Big THANK YOU to Amanda Jonovich for returning as CHS After Prom & PTO Secretary, Elizabeth Fullerman and Christine Panko for taking on Fall 2026 Concessions, Natalie Christie for chairing Fall 2026 Girls Soccer Concessions, Cynthia Laznik & Vickie Taylor for returning to be the Senior Parent After Prom Co-Chairs, and Becki Stonis for taking on the Treasurer position.
Below are remaining open positions for 2026-27 along with the main responsibilities for each.
CHS After Prom & PTO President: Oversee the CHS After Prom & PTO organization, including:
Recruiting committee chairs.
Communicating events and volunteer needs with CHS administration and families.
Running monthly meetings.
Managing the organizations email account, google drive, and website (on Google Sites).
Submitting building usage forms on the CLS website to reserve space for meetings, event decorating workshops, basketball games, and the annual Jr/Sr After Prom event.
Assisting committee chairs as needed.
This position does not involve managing concessions or the Jr/Sr After Prom event. It is strictly oversight of the over-arching CHS After Prom & PTO organization.
JV & Freshman Football Concession Chairs: One chair is needed for each team to:
Open stand 15-30 minutes before the first game and show volunteers what to do as needed.
Oversee post-game clean-up.
Maintain the cash box between games, and submit sales deposits to After Prom & PTO Treasurer throughout the season.
This is primarily a game day only commitment, ideal for JV or Freshman Football parents. The stands will be stocked and ready on game day by Fall Concessions Chairs, who will also manage recruiting the game time volunteers. (Games are late-Aug through mid-October. Freshman games are typically on Thursdays around 4:30pm, JV games are typically on Saturdays at 10am. There are typically only 4-6 home games for each team per season.)
Winter Concessions Chair: Manage basketball concessions by:
Assisting fall concessions chair in moving inventory from stadium stands to the high school.
Recruiting chairs to oversee Boys Basketball & Girls Basketball concessions.
Maintaining concession equipment (popcorn machine, food warmer, hot dog roller, credit card readers).
Overseeing food & beverage supply/pick-up/delivery, inventory, and stocking of beverage fridges at the high school.
This position does not require you to be at the school during game time.
Soccer or Basketball Concession Chairs for individual sports teams: (Boys Soccer, Boys Basketball, & Girls Basketball chairs still needed):
Create a sign-up for your team and distribute to team parents. (Ask JV parents to work Varsity games, and vice versa.)
Open stand 15-30 minutes before the first game and show volunteers what to do as needed.
Oversee post-varsity game clean-up.
Maintain the cash box between games, and submit sales deposits to After Prom & PTO Treasurer throughout the season.
This is primarily a game day commitment that is ideal for soccer or basketball parents. The stands/school will be stocked and ready to go for each game by the Winter Concessions Chair. Ideally, parent volunteers are signed up to work the games so the chairs do not have to be selling concessions during game time.
Scholarship Chair: Oversee the offering of our annual scholarship to graduating seniors by:
Reviewing the scholarship description/criteria/rubric and communicating changes to CHS guidance department
Recruiting three parent volunteers to review scholarship applications
Review scholarship evaluations to determine the three winners
Present scholarship certificates and checks at senior scholarship night in May
Staff Appreciation Week Chair: Typically, Staff Appreciation Week is the first full week in May. Chair responsibilities include:
Planning each day's events, purchasing/ordering food as needed.
Coordinating with vendors as needed. (For May 2026, this involved scheduling the iScream Truck for Tuesday and ordering a Chipotle lunch for Friday.)
Recruiting volunteer help as needed (for decorating/set-up or helping to serve the Friday lunch).
Junior Parent After Prom Event Chair: A Junior parent willing to learn the ropes and return to co-chair the event the following year as a Senior parent. Responsibilities include:
Recruiting sub-committee chairs and volunteers - Two sign-ups needed:
Planning Help (by December) to fill event sub-committee chair positions and rally support for planning of the event.
After Prom Weekend Help (by mid-April) for set-up, working the event, and tear-down.
Communicating event details/ticket purchase info to administration, students, and parents.
Placing rental orders for games, inflatables, tables, dumpster, etc.
Coordinating with Chardon police department for event security and breathalyzers.
Overseeing April/Early-May decorating workshops as needed.
Coordinating with the After Prom & PTO secretary to set up the online ticketing system for the event. (In 2025 & 2026, we used Hometown Ticketing.)
