Since 2009 i have had the privilege to mentor a number of graduate (MS and PhD) and undergraduate students. Brian Reger and Sara Fournier will always have significance in my career as they were the first MS and PhD students, respectively, that graduated under my mentorship.

Right. Miriam Leary (Pearman).

Graduated with a Masters of Science, in 2013 and spent most of 2013 in my lab working on human cardiovascular assessments. in 2016, she graduated with a PhD from Hirofumi Tanaka, PhD lab: Exercise Science, Department of Kinesiology and Health Education, The University of Texas at Austin. Currently,  Dr. Leary is an Assistant Professor at WVU, EXPH.

We often have international students joining the research lab. This is Luca Burgio (MS student) who joined us for approximately 1 year from the University of Milan. WVU and Milan have an exchange program, and overall we have had approximately 5 students moving back and forth from WVU to Uni Of Milan.

Research Interests: Aortic Dysfunction with ECIG (Role of Wattage and base solution)

James graduated with an MS degree from the Olfert-Chantler lab in 2022 and he is now in the CTS PhD program at WVU. James explored the role of E-Cig exposure on aortic health (AHA project).
