John Webb began his broadcasting career in June of 2016. He called his local radio station (KWAL) and asked if they had time to give him a tour of the studio. At that time, things were hectic at the station, just like every LIVE Radio and TV studio, so they told him that they'd call him back on a later date. The very next day, he received a call, asking him to go to the studio for a tour by one of their News Anchors. Webb was absolutely struck at how everything worked. From that point on, he knew what he wanted to do as an adult.

A week later, he began interning at the station. His mornings began early and his evenings ended late. He learned how to produce, edit and broadcast a news package. In August of the same year, Webb had to return to school, so he did jobs here-and-there throughout the winter into the next summer. In June of 2017, the station hired him as a News and Weather Anchor. He worked at KWAL throughout the summer. In 2018, KWAL named Webb the News & Weather Anchor, Mining & Money Host and Production Manager. In August of 2018, the FCC notified KWAL to rebuild a tower that had recently collapsed or completely go off of the air. The station could not fund a new tower so they had to officially sign off of the air. Webb signed the station off on August, 31st at 11:59 PM.

In September of 2016, the Wallace High School obtained a community TV channel that is provided by a local cable network (Suddenlink). Webb was the first to sign up for the class. Later in the school year, Webb was announced Managing Editor for the Channel. He remodeled the whole network and introduced a new show... Channel 3 News. His first newscast debuted in February of 2017. Since then, the broadcasts has developed into a well-respected community program.

John got the amazing opportunity to meet one of his long-time idols. Spokane's Best Female Anchor and longest running anchorwoman in Spokane, Nadine Woodward, offered John a visit to KXLY 4 News. After much talk between the two, Nadine mentioned the idea of becoming a stringer for KXLY. The two scheduled a meeting with Executive Producer, Camie Yngelmo, and Webb was later approved to become a stringer for the Silver Valley. As you can imagine, Webb was beyond thrilled.
