I am a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at UAF (jointly, at the International Arctic Research Center).

My research focuses on the extratropical atmospheric circulations across synoptic to planetary scales and their role in local weather extremes in present and future climates.

I combine theory, reanalysis & climate model data analysis, and idealized modeling to understand and isolate the key physical mechanisms governing weather and climate systems.

Prior to joining UAF, I worked with Prof. Yi Ming and Prof. Seok-Woo Son.
