Design Optimization


Optimization is a mathematical/numerical tool that can solve complex problems in various mobility engineering fields. 

Objective functions and constraint functions can be expressed in terms of the design variables. 

Through iterations, the optimization algorithm updates the design variables to extremize (maximize or minimize) the objective function while satisfying the constraint functions.

Particularly, topology optimization is an advanced design optimization technique that provides the highest design flexibility and unintuitive design patterns without predefined structure information.
