ADOS stands for Autism Diagnostic and Observation Schedule. It is a gold standard to diagnosing Autism, and it evaluates different aspects of an individuals capabilities, in order to determine needs, recommendations and a formal diagnosis.
The ADOS-2 can be administered by educational, mental or developmental professional , holding a Master's Degree in at least one of the fields related to behavior, or development.

The ADOS-2 is an assessment or tool, used to observe and evaluate atypical and neurotypical behaviors, responses to interaction, motor skills and learning process. This evaluation, assists with narrowing down your child's/family member's needs to provide a formal diagnosis. This evaluation in required by almost every insurance to provide individuals with Autism with services such as ABA therapy, OT therapy, Speech therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and any additional disabilities that might accompany the autism diagnosis. Other services can include IEP services at school, advocacy, respite, residential, independent living and services through PerformCare which can include IIH, assistance with SSID applications and technology and safety devices for your child/family member to communicate or facilitate/provide physical assistance.
