PME/IMP Related Professional Development Opportunities

The research found that having access to both formal opportunities for professional development (i.e set PD days) and informal opportunities for professional development (i.e sharing knowledges and experiences with colleagues) was a facilitator to the use of PME/IMP in their classrooms.

You will also find information about an informal 'teacher pairing program' facillitated by INERTIA education (available to any musicians, anywhere). In this program art musicians who may need some help learning instruments, skills or knowledges associated with popular music are paired with experienced popular musicians willing to share their expertise. Likewise, popular musicians with less expereince performing, composing or analysing art musics can ask questions and gain guidance from a partner more familiar with this style.
