Welcome to 2nd grade! I am Mrs. Chambers and I am thrilled to be your teacher this 2020-2021 school year!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Chambers. I am so excited to meet all of you! We are going to have an amazing school year filled with fun, creativity, and lots of learning!

I grew up in York, Maine with my parents and younger brother, Gary. My husband’s name is Jason, we live in Gorham with our 2 little dogs (Squishy and Wally) and 2 cats (Mittens and Zoom). We love spending time as a family outside hiking, gardening, going to the beach and traveling. I began my career in education at the Little Dolphin School in Scarborough where I worked for roughly 4 years with infants through Pre-k children. Following LDS, I worked at the Sebago Alliance School in Buxton, which was a behavioral school for students ranging from kindergarten through high school. For the past seven years, I have worked in the Portland School District first with special education students in kindergarten through 2^nd grade, then teaching 1st grade at Longfellow Elementary School and currently teaching 2nd grade at Rowe Elementary School.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Public Relations and have been working on my Master's Degree in Education with an eventual duel focus in Literacy and ELL.

Communication

Communication is of the upmost importance and an integral part of our partnership. Your child’s Home Folder is the quickest and most important link between us. It will be sent back and forth from school to home every day. Please make sure to check for important information sent home each day.
