All the girls, memoirs, and revue songs used in an attempt cannot be used again. As such, upgrading multiple copies of memoirs is common practice.
If an attempt is not satisfactory, you may reset the Challenge Revue, clearing all your progress and freeing up everything. Treat it as a clean-slate button.
In addition to the normal acts and Climax Acts of the bosses, each boss has an Opening Act and an Ending Act. Their Opening Acts trigger only at the beginning of every attempt, whereas the Ending Acts trigger at the end of every x turns.
Most bosses are generally immune to the myriad of crowd control effects such as Blind, Confuse, Stop, Stun, Freeze. They aren’t immune to status debuffs, Marked, etc. Any exceptions to this rule will be highlighted in the Artifice section of each boss.
Each Challenge Revue boss will have certain artifice(s) which strongly encourage the usage of certain girls, usually featured in Challenge Revue Support banners, to counter said gimmicks. However, Ateam has a bad habit of making these banners feature the newly released counter at only a 0.2% rate, without steps, and thus many strategies are workarounds to counter the boss' artifices without the usage of the specifically designed counter.
The use of MaxHP-based burn and poison is perhaps the most common strategy that can be applied to clear minibosses, Lancelot, and Flower Arthur. Due to their proliferation, such teams will not be explained in detail for each boss unless special strategies that require further explanation need to be employed.
The second row consists of girls who possess mechanics that can be used to counter a wide variety of challenge revue bosses. Due to their ubiquity, they will not be explained in detail under each boss page. Where you cannot construct a good team, refer to these stage girls as a crutch to assist.
A team for clearing a boss is evaluated on three factors: Speed, Reliability, and Obtainability. Usually, you can only prioritise two of those factors in building a team, though occasionally a team pops up that fits all three. Some teams deemed inadequate under these guidelines may not be outlined in the guide.
Each girl your bring in a team will fulfil a specific purpose in that boss battle. Memoirs should be chosen in order to best optimise each girl for that purpose. Defensive memoirs on tanks, offensive memoirs on attackers, brilliance memoirs for those whom the Climax ACT (CX) is of great importance, or those that may otherwise be forcefully exited from the stage before casting their CX without such brilliance support.
Before the ad-gacha update, the most commonly applicable memoirs that should be employed are as below, since they belong to the initial pool. Unless a specific boss' Artifice requires the usage of other memoirs, which will be explained when necessary, these general-use memoirs are the ones you ought to prepare many copies of. Remember that they also ought to be leveled up and fully bound broken.
4🟊 Recharging the Jellyfish Meter (Defensive)
4🟊 A Day in the Goddesses' Life (Offensive)
4🟊 Friends at the Aquarium (Brilliance)
Post-ad-gacha update, all permanent memoirs are attainable. It would be excessive to list out every one, but the judgement on which memoirs are useful for Challenge Revue rests on their status boost spread and memoir effects.
Generally, tanks want HP and/or the applicable type of defense (almost always DEF, not SDEF). Attackers will want ACT.
As for memoir effects, Effective Element DMG Up%, DMG Up%. Dexterity Up%, Critical Up%(only for teams with dexterity buffs) are good effects for attackers. The greater one's critical is (from unit skills), the more effective dexterity will be.
For Revue Songs, selecting a song with %element damage up and %element damage received down is only natural. However, these may be retired in favour of passive effects. If a passive effect applies to the entirety or most of your team, it can definitely be worth using. This is especially the case for solo strategies.
