Chairol Imam is a visual artist with an interdisciplinary practice that explores how humans construct perceptions of ideality, the body, and identity in everyday life. Utilizing a diverse range of mediums including painting, batik, performance art, installation, and digital media, he examines the ways people perceive themselves, others, and the social constructs often deemed normal, ideal, or established. His artistic practice is deeply rooted in daily experiences, observations of social relationships, and a keen fascination with contradictions, imperfections, and how individuals navigate their inner lives and environments.

For him, medium is treated not merely as a tool for visual expression, but as a site for experimentation, reinterpretation, and the search for new possibilities in perceiving reality. Throughout his creative process, he explores how visual art can foster a more reflective and participatory experience. He has been involved in various art forums and exhibitions; notably, he received an award from 2madison Gallery, participated in a residency program at Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiardja (PSBK) Yogyakarta, and took part in the National Culture Week (Pekan Kebudayaan Nasional). Through this journey, he continues to evolve his artistic practice in a contextual and reflective manner.
