The Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) Program, created with $115M in state funding, supports the California Community College system in building degree and certificate pathways that eliminate or drastically reduce textbook costs. The goal is to lower the cost of education and help students complete programs faster without the burden of textbook costs.
So far, the State Chancellor’s Office has awarded $95.7M statewide to 115 colleges. Only three colleges received more than $2M—Chabot ranked #1 with $2.8M! These grants will support 14 ZTC degree/certificate pathways and 10 additional courses, with 80+ faculty leading projects.
