I am a Florida native who earned my bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University, my master’s degree from Florida State University, and my Ph.D. from the University of South Florida. I began my career in the corporate sector as a small business relationship manager with Nations Bank (now Bank of America). After several years, I realized my true passion was in education. I returned to higher education, where I have served for more than 25 years.
Since joining the University of South Florida in 2006 as Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions, I have held progressively responsible roles in Student Success, supporting the vice president in areas such as strategic initiatives, outcomes assessment, strategic planning, compliance, event planning, male student success, and as liaison to Intercollegiate Athletics. In my current role as Assistant Vice President in Career Services, I lead efforts to ensure students are prepared for life beyond USFwhether pursuing graduate studies or entering the workforce.
I also teach as an adjunct instructor in the Job Search course and the Leadership Studies Minor program through Undergraduate Studies, as well as in the Higher Education Student Affairs program. Teaching allows me to help shape students’ development, strengthen the workforce, and prepare individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.
I am active in professional and community organizations, including the Florida Association of Colleges & Employers (FloridaACE), Southern Association of Colleges & Employers (SOACE), National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE), National Career Development Association (NCDA), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work alongside exceptional leaders whose influence has shaped my own professional growth, and I remain committed to advancing student success in the years ahead.
