Meetings

CFUW Strathcona County meets monthly, on the second Wednesdays, September - June, in Sherwood Park, Alberta.  

Guests are always welcome!

2024 - 2025 Meeting Dates

September 11: Welcome back social and discussion of program planning. This meeting will be in person at Sylvia Laarhuis's residence.

October 7: Field Trip - Bruce-Peel Collections Tour to view Cooking Culinaria's collection of cookbooks in Canada. This will occur at the University of Alberta's Rutherford South building. 

October 9: Business Meeting. This meeting will be via Zoom.

November 13: General Meeting. This meeting will be a hybrid meeting (in-person in County Hall Room L-1, and on Zoom). Tentatively scheduled: Laura Hender, Safety/Preparedness Coordinator for County Emergency Services, speaking on Wildfire Issues and FireSmart Program. 

December 11: Christmas Social. This meeting will be in person 

January 8: General Meeting. This meeting will be a hybrid meeting (in-person in County Hall Room L-1, and on Zoom). Tentatively scheduled: Amy Macleod speaking on Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. 

February 12: General Meeting. This meeting will be a hybrid meeting (in-person in County Hall Room L-1, and on Zoom). Tentatively scheduled: Sylvia Laarhuis speaking on Community Adult Living and Literacy Society. 

March 12: Meeting to discuss national resolutions proposed for CFUW national's 2025 Annual General Meeting. This meeting will be via Zoom.

April 9: TBD. This may be a field trip or a hybrid meeting (in-person and on Zoom). Tentatively scheduled: a speaker from the Air Ambulance Program

May 14: Annual General Meeting. This meeting will be a hybrid meeting (in-person in County Hall Room L-1, and on Zoom).

June 11: June Wind-up Social. This meeting will be in person. Tentatively scheduled: the Writer-In-Residence
