C3 National Challenge Competition

Creative, Critical, Content

Background

The C3 National Challenge Competition is held to provide an alternative for primary school pupils to showcase their creativity by producing digital content based on topics/subjects learned in school. In addition, this competition is aimed to unleash the creativity of pupils. CEO@Faculty Programme in conjunction with the Division of Industry and Community Collaboration, the Department of Higher Education has been given the mandate to organize the C3 National Challenge 2020, at the National Level.

Registration Deadline : 24th July 2020

Video submission Date : 7th August 2020

Terms and Conditions of Participation

1. Participation is FREE and open to primary school pupils Year 4 to Year 6 only.

2. Each entry must consist of 1 student and 1 escort teacher or parent(s).

3. The theme of the video must be based on five categories in STEAM subjects: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.

4. The short video produced must be the original work of the participants and not taken from any source.

5. The short video produced must NEVER been used for other competition.

6. Each participant is limited to only ONE entry.

7. Video content can be in English or in Bahasa Melayu.

8. The competition is open to all Malaysian citizens.

9. The Organizer reserves the right to reject entries in violation of the competition terms and conditions.

Competition Prizes

First Place : Prize worth RM1000 + Certificate of Participation

Second Place : Prize worth RM800 + Certificate of Participation

Third Place : Prize worth RM500 + Certificate of Participation

Special Jury Award : Prize worth RM300 + Certificate of Participation

Industry Special Award : Prize worth RM300 + Certificate of Participation

Most Popular Video Award : Prize worth RM300 + Certificate of Participation

Certificate of Participation will also be given to all participants in the competition.

Judging

1. The appointed jury will evaluate the work of the participants based on the following aspects:

  • Creative Content and story telling

  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Approach

Bonus : Real life applications

2. Prizes will be awarded to all winners during the online award ceremony.

3. The jury’s decision is final.

Entry Requirements

1. By using creativity, create a video that tells about a topic that has been learned based on STEAM subjects : Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.

2. Each participant will be guided by a Mentor consisting of the university’s lecturer and the industry representative.

3. The duration of the video must be between 3 to 5 minutes.

4. Each video must be uploaded to the YouTube platform with the assistance from the Mentor.

6. The production of the video must not contain elements that touch the sensitivity of religion, racism, culture and specific political beliefs.

7. The closing date entry is on 24th July 2020.
