The 2023 joint CFMIP-GASS Meeting on Cloud, Precipitation, Circulation & Climate Sensitivity
Sorbonne University - Paris, France
July 9-13, 2023
This joint CFMIP-GASS meeting will focus on themes relevant to Clouds, Convection, Circulation, and Climate Sensitivity, and will strengthen collaborations between ongoing Cloud Feedback Model Intercomparison Project (CFMIP) and Global Energy and Water Exchanges (GEWEX)'s Global Atmospheric System Studies (GASS) activities.
The meeting will consist of oral presentations, poster sessions and breakout groups on the topics listed below, considering process and climate studies from models and observations on a wide range of scales
We look forward to seeing you in Paris !

Conference topics
The conference will address the following topics, considering process and climate studies from models and observations on a wide range of scales:
Convective organization
What controls the mesoscale organization of shallow and deep convection, and what role does it play in weather and climate?
Cloud processes
How do micro to meso-scale processes control cloud phase, precipitation and cloud-radiative effects?
Cloud-circulation coupling
How do clouds interact with circulations and what role does this interaction play in weather and climate?
Climate feedbacks and sensitivity
How do clouds respond to external perturbations and what role does it play in climate change?
BreaKout Sessions
In addition to plenary sessions, there will be poster sessions and breakout groups around on-going GASS and CFMIP projects. Suggestions of breakout groups that strengthen collaboration between these projects are very welcome.
If you wish to self-organize a breakout group that is not already considered, please contact the organization committee (cfmip2023@lmd.ipsl.fr)
