Session 3:
The Exodus and Wilderness

Below is a series of additional video resources, activities and studies that I've used on the topic of "The Exodus and Wilderness" over the years. Please feel welcome to view and make use of these resources as appropriate.

Below are some bonus videos following the Biblical themes of 'the law', 'sacrifice and atonement' and 'holiness' throughout the Bible.

• In my previous session we spoke about reading large sections of the Bible out loud and that we would try to do that at some point this term… what better section of the Bible to do this with than the Exodus story!?

  • In doing so, we’re partaking in a tradition that people have been doing for millennia.

  • To try and make this more immersive, I’ll aim to do most. So you don’t have to worry about when it’s your turn, etc. You can close your eyes, or take notes, or read along. Whatever you like.

  • Then afterwards we’ll spend a few moments reflecting on the experience of hearing large sections of scripture being read aloud in community.

Activity

• Read the Exodus story (Ch 1-15). Or simply see how far you get in 15 minutes.

• Discuss in small groups what you noticed reading the story this way – then have someone from each small group share back with the larger  group.
