Ignacio Andrade-Silva

(Postdoctoral researcher)

Ignacio earned his PhD in Physics at Universidad Claude Bérnard I - École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, Lyon, France on the elasticity of actuation. He will be working on the actuation of one-dimensional elastic structures using pneumatic inflation. His research will be funded by FONDECYT Postdoctorado 3230753 from 2023 to 2026..

Sebastián de la Maza

(PhD student)

Sebastián earned his Bs. at Universidad de Chile. He will be working on the theoretical and experimental study of parametric surface wave amplification over corrugated boundaries from 2025 to 2028.

Isis Vivanco

(PhD student)

Isis earned his Bs. at Universidad de Santiago, Chile. She will be working on the theoretical and experimental study of hydraulic jump interaction as analog black holes. Her research will be funded by ANID from 2024 to 2028

Rodolfo Morales

(PhD student)

Rodolfo earned his Bs. and MSc. in Mining Engineering at Universidad Técnica Federico Santamaría de Chile. He will be working on theoretical models for stress constitutive relations in plastic granular materials from 2022 to 2026. His research will be funded by ANID from 2021 to 2024.

Felipe Cubillos

(Master student)

Felipe earned his Bs. in Physics at Universidad de Chile.He will be working on the band structure of gravity surface waves propagating over a periodical bottom, including local vortex dynamics.

Miguel Letelier

(Master student)

Miguel earned his Bs. in Physics at Universidad de Chile. She will be working on the band structure and topology of mechanical metamaterials. His research will be funded by FONDECYT 1190005 and Millenium Nucleus on Soft Smart Mechanical Metamaterials from 2021 to 2023.

Cristóbal Cárcamo

(Master student)

Cristóbal earned his Bs. in Physics and in Chemistry at Universidad de Chile. He will be working on the mechanics of actuation of dielectric and piezoelectric elastomers. His research will be funded by FONDECYT Exploración 13220007, co-advised by Humberto Palza from DQByM from 2022 to 2024.

Fernanda Padró

(Master student)

Fernanda earned his Bs. in Physics at Universidad de Chile. She will be working on the experimental wave guiding of Rossby waves from 2024 to 2026.
