José defends his Master's thesis entitled "Efectos de la direccionalidad en el movimiento de estados quimera de Kuramoto-Sakaguchi" this September the 12th!!. Congratulations!!. You can find his manuscript here.
Sebastián joins our team this semester. He will be working on paramteric amplification of surface waves over corrugated boundaries (in collaboration with L. Chamorro at UofI at Urbana-Champaign)
I'm a physicist driven by curiosity and coffee in search of an understanding of patterns and structures. I like to make simple experiments that can display interesting physics and simple theory that can describe complex phenomena. Since 2015, I'm an Associate Professor of Physics at the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (FCFM) at Universidad de Chile.
My research is focused on wave-structure interaction with a strong interest in metamaterials (mechanical, mostly). A while ago I devoted a lot of my time on wave turbulence, statistical properties of out.-of.-equilibrium systems, and instabilities.
When I'm not at work, I'm usually at home playing football with Ana and Magda.
If you want to know more, here's a short CV (and the official academic information from Universidad de Chile)
