An Illustrated Biography of AVM. Ekanayake Rohan Amerasekera DFC & Bar, RCyAF
This is the biography of my father's friend and distant relative, and it will tell his life story from his birth in Kegalle to his untimely death in 1974. It will include details of his early life and education in Ceylon, his time as a Navigator with RAF Bomber Command in UK during WW2, a description of each of his 52 Operations, descriptions and details of the Aircraft he flew in, biographical details of his crew mates from 4 different crews, complete details of his recommendations and citations for his DFC and Bar, details of his service in the RCyAF, from its inception in 1951, and of various courses followed in UK. It will also include details of other Ceylonese who served in the RAF, during and after WW2. Also included will be the complete text of the Six booklets written by Rohan Amerasekera, on various topics relating to Spiritualism and Mysticism. It will contain many photographs, maps and illustrations.
I have corresponded with many people who knew him at various stages of his life, including family members, those who went to school with him, all of his surviving crew-mates from the RAF Bomber command days, other Ceylonese in the RAF, and with others who followed courses with him at the RAF Staff College and Imperial Defence College in the 1950s, and finally those who served with him in the RCyAF.
If you knew Rohan Amerasekera at any stage of his life, I would like to hear from you.
