I was born in Madrid to a Spanish father and an American mother, and I was active in politics from a very young age. My father, while he admired many aspects of American society, he would constantly point out to me where our political and economic system fell short of that of his homeland. It was this, more than anything else (well, excluding my Mazdakite religious beliefs), that pushed me on the road to becoming a socialist politician.
I got my start in the Atlantic Assembly as a Democrat, where I fought to abolish cash bail and raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, among countless other initiatives. I was soon pressed into taking charge of the effort to reclaim New York from the Republicans, which I did so quite successfully, defeating my hardline Republican opponent (who, incidentally, had replaced one PGF, who would one day become my fellow Socialist) in the debates and the election, entering the House for the first time with a mandate to advance the interests of the working class wherever possible.
It was around this time that I became a founding member of the Socialist Party, helping to draft the party's first platforms. In the House, I worked with PGF to introduce a bill to repeal Taft-Hartley and encourage worker co-operatives. I turned a shoe-in victory in Dixie's 3rd District into a hard-fought race, and though I lost, I continued to push for the rights of the working class in Congress, proposing bills to fully repeal Taft-Hartley and ensure housing for all Americans. Now, I'm returning home to fight for New York workers once more! Please, join me in this historic campaign!
