The Central North Island Boxing Association (CNI) came into existence around 61 years ago (in 1959) and covers a region bounded by Tauranga, Taupo, Tokoroa and Taumarunui. CNI also affiliates other clubs that are not within its geographical region.

The Central North Island Boxing Association is member of Boxing New Zealand Incorporated and as such is also bound by the Regulations of Boxing New Zealand Incorporated.
